My parents bring their Akita up every June and we dog sit while they go to vegas.  Yumi and Keigo got along great!!  We really enjoyed watching them with each other.  Keigo, who is a very smart and well behaved dog, helped Yumi learn the commands "come" "sit" "stay" and "leave it" They say a dog who is trained is one of the best ways to teach other dogs!

We signed Yumi up for her first set of training, Puppy Preschool.  She starts August 8th, and I am convinced, she is going to be the smartest one in there!

Yumi has been growing so fast!!  I can't believe she is already almost 20lbs!!  WOW!!  when we go her she was about 9!  On Monday 6/1 We had to take her to the Pet Urgent Care. She just finished the last of her medicine on Saturday night, and Feeling so much better!  She has becteria in her intestine, and lost a pound due to no appetite and the "reah."    We were really pleased with the attention we received @ the Pet Urgent Care.  They gave her an examination, did 2 fecal exams, gave her a shot, and a prescription.  She just had a little bacteria in her intestines.  But Happy Healthy and Hyper now!!

We're PARENTS!!

Finally, after 2 1/2 years of begging Carlos, he gave in and bought me a puppy!!

The puppy wasn't the reason he didn't want me to get one.....He didn't want to get me one, because the only dog I wanted was an Akita!  I didn't want anything else!!!

Akita's are AMAZING dogs!  They are the ONLY dog who prefers human companionship over any other dog.  They are native to Japan, and actually are used in Japan to babysit little kids.  I have wanted one since we had to get rid of ours when we were little.

Finally, last Wed 5/13 Carlos and I drove up to Ogden to pick out my Akita!!  I picked a beautiful little girl!!  She was the biggest one of the litter!  After a few days of pondering different Japanese names, and conversation with my Japanese Uncle, we decided to name her, Yumi (like YouMe) it mean Beautiful Dream in Japanese.

Busy 24/7

Sorry it has been so long since we have updated.....We have been going Non-stop!!!  So the update on the past few months is......We were able to got to Tucson for Christmas and New Years! :) While we were there I was able to go deer hunting (unsuccessful hunt), attend our good friend's wedding, and just spend time with family!  It was so nice to be home.

When we returned home, we learned that car sales, where Carlos was working, was slowing.  He found a more stable sales job for the time being as well working his way towards being a financial advisor.

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend time with Carlos's childhood best friend, and his wife (who he also grew up with) a week after we returned home.  They flew out to utah from Florida and stayed with us for a week.  While they were here, we spent a night in vegas so they could see the light (as this is the furthest west they have been), go snowboarding, and enjoy that YUMMY homemade Venezuelan food!

Other than that, we are just taking it easy, trying to spend less and save more, as we don't know what the economy has in store for us.  I have been picking up every shift i can at the school, as well as still managing the tanning salon. Luckily for me, the Salon is still staying busy. ....

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.
